That's where you come in. As a User Researcher, you'll be at the heart of our product strategy, shaping how we craft solutions that empower developers and engineering teams across the globe. Your insights will directly influence key decisions, and you'll guide cross-functional teams in translating complex user needs into elegant, intuitive experiences. If you're someone who thrives on complexity and can see the patterns in seemingly chaotic feedback, you'll love this role.Your mission is to dive deep into the mindset of engineers and enterprise teams, uncovering their challenges, motivations, and desires. You'll turn those insights into action, helping us create tools that developers love to use-and that make them even more productive.Examples of What You Could Do:

  • Observe an engineering team at a client site to understand how they use Augment's tools and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct interviews with developers to explore how they approach AI-assisted coding, then turn insights into actionable product features.
  • Run usability studies to streamline the onboarding experience for new users, helping them succeed faster.
  • Create personas and journey maps based on user feedback to guide design and product decisions.
  • Present key findings to leadership, influencing the product roadmap.You Will:
    • Lead research efforts to uncover how developers and teams use our AI tools and turn findings into actionable product insights.
    • Collaborate across teams to integrate user needs into product decisions at every stage.
    • Design and execute research strategies that highlight pain points and areas for innovation in the developer experience.
    • Conduct interviews, tests, and surveys to gather feedback and present it in ways that inspire action across the company.
    • Advocate for users throughout product development, ensuring their needs are prioritized.Required skills and experience:
      • 5+ years of user research experience, ideally in enterprise software or AI products.
      • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods-able to dig into data and tell compelling user stories.
      • Proven ability to influence product decisions with research insights.
      • A creative, hands-on problem-solver who translates user feedback into clear solutions.
      • Strong communicator, skilled at presenting complex findings to both technical and non-technical teams.
      • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment and handling ambiguity with ease.Bonus Points:
        • Experience with AI or developer tools.
        • Passion for improving developer workflows and experiences.
