  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Med Surg/Tele RN for a travel contract.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate will have 2 years of experience
    • hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and a CA License.
      • Schedule Information
      • Module completion is required before the start date; Modules take 3-4 hours - not billable
      • Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years)
      • Shifts: 12-hour shifts starting at 0645 and 1845
      • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
      • Holidays: Yes
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Ratios: 1:5 for Tele and, on occasion, for the BH patients
        • Floor specific orientation: Yes, somewhat limited - 2-3 shifts
        • Nurse's Read Strips?: Done by Monitor Tech but RN expected to be able to recognize rhythms and act accordingly
        • Drips: Yes, limited cardiac drips
        • Vents: No
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Hospitalists
        • IV Team: Yes but focuses on PICC placement
        • RT 24/7: Yes
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
        • Floating: Yes
          • Additional Details
          • Modules are required to be done before start
          • Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
          • Unit Med Acute 4N is the working unit
