Bonneville Labs is looking for a Lab Operations Specialist Team Lead to join our team! The Laboratory Operations Specialist Team Lead for our facility will act as a critical part of Bonneville Lab's operations team as they will oversee all support for the site's daily operations and participate in a wide variety of projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Laboratory Operations, this individual will need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively to provide status and reports on members, facility and equipment conditions as well as any other issues that may arise or need to be escalated as appropriate. This individual will also be key in providing suggestions on process improvements to continue the growth, development and continued professionalism of Bonneville Labs.They will work both independently and collaboratively with other members of the Bonneville Laboratory Operations team to support the development of processes that provide member companies with the services, supplies, and equipment they require to successfully conduct their research. To achieve success, the Laboratory Operations Specialist Team Lead will be team-oriented, interact with a diverse group of member staff, and thrive in a fast-paced and demanding research environment.This individual will also provide supervision and leadership to the lab ops team directly onsite at Berkeley.What You'll Do

  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly work orders related to equipment maintenance, waste management and space upkeep.
  • Participate in onboarding of operations staff by providing hands-on training as detailed in Bonneville Labs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all SOPs are executed and followed appropriately.
  • Support site customers by responding and completing work orders in a timely manner.
  • Oversee system health checks on our monitoring system by performing updates, maintenance, setting checks and reporting.
  • Actively update and confirm site space management for updates to software (OfficeRnD) by tracking equipment, memberships, and making all necessary changes within a timely manner.
  • Support property management interactions including addressing and providing follow-up on any property issues/concerns, conducting monthly facility inspections. Participate in periodic meetings with property managers to ensure a strong relationship.
  • Support EH&S Department on follow up on CAPAs and other safety related initiatives.
  • Perform beginning and end of day organization and prep to ensure priorities are met and staff are prepared for their daily tasks.Team Leader Responsibilities
    • Conduct daily standup team meetings with site staff to provide continued collaboration on site specific needs.
    • Provide suggestions regarding process standards as necessary and input for continued process improvements onsite.
    • Perform regular system health checks on our monitoring system, Monnit to include appropriate updates, maintenance, setting checks and reporting.
    • Take ownership of site space management software (OfficeRnD) by providing continuous updates regarding equipment, memberships, and making all necessary changes within a timely manner.
    • Coordinate property management interactions to include addressing and providing follow-up on any property issues/concerns.
    • Understand the process for reviewing and requesting approvals for any requests for certification of insurance.
    • Provide member management by assisting in all lab and non-lab services and provide status reports to customers.
    • Coordinate with vendors (maintenance and services), keeping up with maintenance schedule and ensuring timely servicing of equipment.
    • Participate in site inspections to include lab and site inspections, supporting audits, CAPA & EH&S implementation for site on a monthly basis.What We're Looking For
      • 2 Years experience in laboratory setting
      • Excellent written and verbal communication Skills
      • Strong computer skills
      • Excellent customer service skills
      • Ability to work in a flexible and fast paced environment
      • Driver's license and reliable transportation
      • EH&S, HazMat and bloodborne pathogen training
      • Experience with EH&S inspection is a plus
      • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas of specialty is bonus
        • Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S)
        • Laboratory Equipment Maintenance
        • Facility Maintenance
        • Bachelor Degree: Life Sciences or related field of Study: PreferredWorking onsite at Bonneville Labs
          • Location: This position is in-person and will be based out of our Berkeley Office
          • Compensation: The posted salary range is firm for this and all roles within Bonneville Labs. Total Compensation will be based on experience and most roles include a bonus structure based on company performance.
          • Commute: Travel to and from work (your designated base of operations) is part of the role and considered part of your commute to work, these expenses will not be reimbursed.
          • Travel: Travel to other Bonneville Labs sites and/or to our member sites (within the Bay Area) may be required for this role. Additional travel that is above and beyond your normal commute will be reimbursable based upon Bonneville Lab's travel and expense policy and California Law. Reliable transportation is a requirement for this role as Bonneville Labs' has multiple local facilities that you may travel between.Perks Working with Bonneville Labs
