time.This position is based at Richmond Terminal, and also covers
the oversight of nearby Landing Way Terminal in Petaluma.What
You'll Do:
- Ensure the safe condition of the site operations at all times.
Promote work safety, leading by example to ensure that the terminal
is in compliance with Vulcan Way of Operating (VWO) and Safety
Health and Environmental (SHE) standards. Manage yourself, and
everyone on site, to continuously improve safety and operational
performance.
- Administer the Facility Security Plan (USCG requirement) if
applicable, in coordination with other Facility Security Personnel,
and consultants.
- Track monthly terminal operating performance, improvement
activities, and significant events, reporting to the District
Manager and other upper management.
- Attend all Management meetings as needed.
- Travel to other locations as needed.
- Ensure that inbound cargos can be discharged fully and in a
timely manner by adjusting capacity distribution of stockpiles.
Work closely with the logistics manager and other personnel on
coordination of vessel schedule.
- Plan for upcoming ship offloads in a timely manner to foresee
possible obstacles and ensure efficient vessel offload without
preventable delays. Coordinate with terminal employees,
consultants, and other labor providers to ensure needed support for
the offload.
- Assist with the ship offload, and as a weighmaster, as
needed.
- Build and manage stockpiles and surrounding areas to ensure
cleanliness and prevent delivery of segregated or contaminated
material, minimize fugitive dust and storm-water run-off. Adhere to
and propose or implement improvements to best practices related to
the site storm-water management plan (SWPPP). Conduct or arrange
sampling, testing, and reporting as needed to stay in Environmental
compliance.
- Ensure the quality of aggregates to meet needed specifications,
ensure that weekly gradation tests are completed and report the
results. Ensure that moisture tests, temperature tests, and other
material tests are completed and results analyzed as needed.
- Conduct drone flights for the stockpile survey, as part of
stockpile management and inventory control, analyze the results and
report to Manager.
- Ensure that all Mobile and Fixed equipment on site is properly
maintained and in good working condition. Ensure that all usage
data is tracked, and VWO is followed at all times. Arrange for
maintenance service providers to perform regular maintenance per
manufacturer recommendations and needed repairs. Track and report
upcoming and completed maintenance items in the monthly
reporting.
- Develop, document, and continually improve and update
maintenance schedules, checklists, and activities for all terminal
assets: fixed and mobile equipment, stockpiles, and property.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems, practices, and
equipment, explore and analyze improvement opportunities and
alternatives, and recommend changes, additions, or adjustments as
appropriate to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost.
- Plan and supervise terminal labor schedule and other
contractors to ensure that appropriate skills are scheduled for the
planned work, and that work is done efficiently and in compliance
with VWO.
- Ensure training is completed to develop workforce skills to
meet anticipated needs and ensure "bench strength" on all critical
skills.
- Develop constructive and effective relationships with all key
associations: management, subordinates, contractors, suppliers,
property owners, customer contacts, and any regulatory or
government officials with business at the terminal.This is not an
all-inclusive listing of job duties. Operational, safety, and other
needs may require the incumbent to perform other duties as
assigned.Skills You'll Need:
- Experience - Previous experience in supervising production
employees preferably at either an aggregate, sand/gravel, ready
mix, or asphalt plant preferred.
- Organization, planning, and communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills - an excellent motivator and team builder.
Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively
communicate with both internal and external audiences.
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities objectively and
purposefully.
- Effective time-management to ensure that important items are
addressed and communicated effectively and with appropriate
urgency.
- Strong computer skills: Excel, Microsoft Word, and others.
- Travel to other locations.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions

business.Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is
between $100,000 to $130,000 annual salary. This range is not
inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When
determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of
factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current
